2021.11.29 11:04 Both-Technology-5085 Mechanic could have killed me

so my car was having some issues and it also needed an oil change. I took my vehicle (Nissan Sentra 08) to the Kal-Tire shop, we waited for a while and finally got someone assistance, i told the front desk man that i wanted a general check up AS WELL AS an oil change (which they did not do) but wrote on the invoice as if they did. Even after they were done with my vehicle, they did not call to notify me that they were done and we waited for so long in a neighboring store. So i move the car and i smell burning oil but i thought oh it must be because of the oil change, but this smell went on for about 3 weeks.
i am not car person so i don't have much knowledge on the mechanics of a car(especially when its not my own vehicle but my sisters cuz she got new one). i had a gut feeling something was off, so i didn't use the car often, yesterday my dad comes from a different city to visit check my car, and guess what we find........ THE CAP FOR THE ENGINE OIL HAD BEEN LEFT OFF! and there was oil all over the engine and hood. Mind you, i haven't opened to hood since i took it to the shop. Mind u there is NO oil left in my engine at this point because it all spilled out!
so i go to get an oil change at a different place, and they are pointing out all the things wrong that the other mechanics did, my clips for my air filter is also missing..... and i asked if mechanics check that for a general check up, and they said yes. because aint no way i took them clips off myself. So they washed it for me, and i really appreciate them.
i don't really know what to do, do i have grounds to sue or something ? I am heading to the shop today (monday) to go scream at them, because i could've blown up in the car due to their negligence. I still cant wrap my head around how they could be so negligent, i could have died. i also take blame for not checking to see if everything was in place before leaving the shop, like do they not have a person inspect the car or somehting

2021.11.29 11:04 Tomboss0802 H202 combustion

Hi, I'm currently researching fuels for a liquid fueled engine. I'm wondering If H202 will combust on its own without any fuel seen as though it contains hydrogen. I know that this wouldn't be very efficient seen as though you would have extra oxygen but I'm aiming for simplicity at the moment.
Thank you.

2021.11.29 11:04 TheWitchOfNight The Last Namsara By Kristen Ciccarelli.

This book is brilliant. It was the first YA book I read at 12, and I loved every single word.
Our main female lead is an Iskari. Shunned and hated by her people for her mistake and Princess to those said people.
Slavery also exists in their nation. The slaves were from another country that tried to conquer their nation a few decades or so ago.
It's difficult to articulate all my thoughts about this book and its complex broken main characters. I loved how nuanced and complex Asha is.
At age 7, she single-handedly caused the death of thousands of people by talking with dragons and telling them the tales of the old(you'll understand why it was such a big deal later on).
She suffered greatly, barely making out alive and with a scar on her face that ran from her ear to the sides of her body.
It was a visible reminder of her folly and her shame. She was then transformed into a social pariah and named the Isakri-death bringer. She slew dragons to try and atone for her sins and to make it up to her people.
She was mocked, disrespected, and used by her father. He sacrificed his daughter and refused to even look at her. She was feared, hated, viewed as a death bringer and a murderer. A dangerous combination. And she was about to marry a misogynistic, racist, and condescending brute whom her father held in high esteem.
He suppressed two slave rebellions and killed anyone even remotely connected to the events. He sexually assaulted Asha and threatened her.
Then she fainted during a ball. Torwin, a slave, caught her, risking his safety. He entered her life, a helping hand and a shoulder to lean on, always supportive and unwavering. He allowed her to see life in a whole new light and made her realize the monstrousness of slavery. She wasn’t more sympathetic to her ‘property’’ hardships, but saw them as people. That's all I can say without spoiling this book for you.
I loved the portrayal of having a physical deformity. It doesn't just go away. Love wasn't the magical answer to her problems. Her trauma didn't build her up but wore her down, and she wasn't strong because of them but in spite of them.
I was pleasantly surprised by the politics and representation of slavery in this book. The author didn't sugarcoat anything. Nothing was black and white in this book. Asha's people weren't villains for being a part of an unequal system, though they were complicit in the suffering of countless human beings.
And I like how the author pointed out that even if the slaves were free, it didn't mean the problems were over. Their country was gone, and once the slavers realized some slaves were missing, they would take out the remaining population. Neighbors would turn on neighbors, with the whole country descending into chaos.
Yet, even amidst such bleak realizations, there was still hope. Hope for the future and hope for better days.
There were plenty of political schemes and a huge plot twist right at the end. It didn’t appear out of the blue. All the clues were are there if you wanted to solve the puzzle. The fight scenes were epic and so was the romance.
I deeply admired the author for being able to level out the power dynamic between Asha, a princess, and Torwin, a slave. It made their relationship much easier for me to digest.
It's obvious how much they cared for each other. When Torwin called her heartless, it felt like a sucker punch in the gut. And when Asha finally called Torwin's name out loud and gave him her weapon, it made me cry tears of joy.
I also liked how they played the soul mate's trope. It was natural and never felt forced. It made sense in the context of the story. The part about Iskari's loneliness and predetermined life broke my heart. Her isolation and otherness is explored in the story.
The ending felt right. It resolved the storyline and romantic subplot.
The spattering of legends were more or less vital to the story and gave the reader important background information without being an exposition dump.
I was allowed to come to my conclusions. Personally, it was cathartic. I would recommend this book to anyone and everyone. It was heartbreakingly beautiful in its writing, sad, and emotionally satisfying.
